DISCIPLESHIP
It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. Ephesians 4:11-12
The mission of the Discipleship Committee is to nurture children, young people and adults by providing a Christ-centered environment of love and acceptance, which is led by the Holy Spirit, modeled after the master teacher, Jesus Christ, and built on the Holy Bible as the standard by which teaching and doctrines are taught; all leading to the fulfilling of the "great commission" to make disciples.
The entire congregation working as "One in Christ" is needed to support the discipleship mission of His church. There are many opportunities to use the "gifts" God has bestowed upon each of us by becoming a member of the committee, Sunday morning teacher or substitute for adults and children, Vacation Bible School coordinator or volunteer, Small Group coordinator or leader, Midweek program coordinator, dinner time volunteer, FISH teacher, or children's Christmas program director, just to name a few.
