The children's choir program is a way for the children of the church to share the Word of God through the gift of singing. The skills of learning wonderful texts and tunes will remain with the children for a lifetime.
Each children's choir usually sings about once a month during the early or late service, with a few special performances during the year.
St. Luke offers two children's choirs, based on your child's age. All children are invited to come make a joyful noise!
CHERUB CHOIR - AGE 4 THROUGH GRADE 2
The Cherub choir meets from 6-6:55 p.m. every Wednesday during the school year in the kindergarten room . The Cherub Choir is an introduction to singing in a group, where children get the chance to explore their musical self and discover more about their singing voice. It is a time of singing, laughing, and learning about God.
Christ's Kids Choir - Grades 3 through 6
Christ's Kids Choir meets from 6-7 p.m. every Wednesday during the school year in the music room (across the hall from the water fountain). As part of choir, your child will be: playing Orff instruments, hand-chimes and rhythm instruments, learning music with motion, memorizing scripture (we are sneaky that way!), learning how to perform as a group, reading AND singing at the same time (that's hard!), learning musical symbols and terms, learning about the wonderful musical heritage of the Lutheran Church, learning about and leading music in worship, and most of all having fun and spending time with their Christian peers!
