The St. Luke food pantry will be open to the public each Tuesday during the month of May from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. 

​We are using a drive-thru approach so folks can still be socially distant and stay safe.

Each year a team of St. Luke members serve as missionaries at an orphanage for disabled children in Jamaica. Periodically a youth team serves in Jamaica as well.
How you can help:

• Volunteers generally find themselves in two groups: Children and Construction.  Volunteers may choose to do one activity or both during our work time.

Stephen Ministers Are There to CareAre you, or someone you know, going through a difficult time—emotionally, spiritually, or relationally?  The Stephen Ministry here at St. Luke is a ministry devoted to helping anyone who is lonely, experiencing a crisis, or simply stressed by everyday life.  No one should ever have to suffer alone. Our Stephen Ministers are trained caregivers, ready to listen, care for and encourage you, pray with and for you, and provide confidential one-to-one Christian care to help you through whatever it is that you are facing.

This care is entirely confidential—no one knows the identity of a care receiver except for his or her Stephen Minister and the pastor or Stephen Leader who paired the two together. The care receivers featured here stepped forward willingly to share their stories. Click to see their stories

A Stephen Minister Is …

• A child of God who walks beside a person who is hurting
• A congregation member with gifts for caregiving, who was carefully selected to serve in this role
• A lay person who has received 50 hours of training in providing emotional and spiritual care
• A caring, Christian friend who listens, cares, prays, supports, and encourages
• Someone who will “be there” for his or her care receiver, meeting faithfully for about an hour each week, for as long as there’s a need.

Family Promise is a faith-based ministry designed to meet the immediate needs of Memphis-area families who find themselves homeless. St Luke partners with Family Promise to provide overnight facility use, meals and transportation to these families 3 weeks out of the year.

In cooperation with Grace St. Luke Episcopal Church in midtown,, St. Luke serves over 1200 homeless guests in a given year. More Than a Meal provides a hot meal and, in addition, provides the dignity of table service, fellowship, and a break from the invisibility that many of the guests live.
How you can help:

• Volunteers may serve in food preparation or as servers in the kitchen or dining room.
  
• When: on the third Sunday every month.
  

St. Luke provides gifts and assists with a monthly birthday party at Grace Healthcare nursing facility.

How you can help:

• Visit with members of the nursing care facility
  
• When: Every month on the 2nd Monday, 2:15 p.m.
  

What are Little Free Libraries?
Little Free Libraries are hand-crafted structures filled with constantly changing collections of books donated and shared by people of all ages and backgrounds. Most Little Free Libraries are placed in front yards, parks, gardens and easily accessible locations. The Libraries are built to withstand weather of all kinds and hold 20-100 books. Some Libraries are located in coffee shops, in or near restaurants and community centers.  St Luke is privileged to have two of these "Take a Book, Leave a Book” libraries placed on our grounds.  Spread the word among your neighbors and friends, and spread the joy of reading.  There are books for all ages and intrests...just drive or walk by and pick up (or drop off) a book to enjoy... No charge and no late fees involved!
