VOLUNTEER AT ST. LUKE

Whether you are interested in simply saying "good morning" and being a smiling face on Sundays, or maybe you're interested in helping with VBS or offering your musical talents, we've got everything in between! If you're looking to get involved here at St. Luke, take a look at some of the opportunities we have listed below. Contact the church office for more information about any of these opportunities.

Acting
  • Seasonal skits during Lent/Advent services
Computer / Technical
  • Project song lyrics during services
Cooking / Serving Food
  • Cooking for Wednesday evening meals and special events
  • Provide a hot meal for families due to an injury, illness, or other reason
Crafts
  • Sew/assemble quilts
  • Help with scenery for Vacation Bible school and children's plays and musicals
Help Before / During Worship Services
  • Altar Guild - Set up Chancel and communion
  • Usher - Greet and assist worshipers to seats, Collect offering, and help with communion
  • Acolyte - 1st-5th graders light and extinguish candles and help with Communion
  • Crucifer - 5th-9th graders carry the cross into worship
  • Read scripture passages
  • Project song lyrics from computer
  • Greet people as they arrive for worship
  • Nursery help
Caring for People
  • Greet people as they arrive for worship
  • Small Group facilitator and/or host
  • Transport those in need
  • Call inactive members to encourage them to return
  • Visit those who cannot attend worship
Manual Labor (Light)
  • Seasonal skits during Lent/Advent services
  • Set up and tear down for various events (like Breakfast In Bethlehem, VBS, receptions, etc.)

  • Occasional Accompaniment for Special Songs or Services

Odd Jobs
  • Send post cards to members to celebrate birthdays, baptismal birthdays, etc.
  • Help set up for VBS, Easter Egg hunt, and other Children's Ministry events
  • Clean toys for the nursery
  • Decorate the sanctuary before Advent and Lent
  • Stock and refill the busy bags children use during worship
Planning/Organizing
  • Coordinator for various ministry areas - Family Promise Ministry, More than a Meal, Men's Retreat, etc.
  • Children's ministry special event planning
Teaching/Caring For Children
  • Nursery helpers
  • Sunday School teachers and assistants
  • Vacation Bible School helpers
