Learn about the Book of Acts - Beginning February 5, 2017

    1/31/2017

    Picture
On the first Sunday in February, the adult class that meets in room 111, “Real Faith for Real Life,” is beginning a new study in the Book of Acts. Over the years Acts has been given a variety of subtitles including, “The Gospel of Luke, Volume 2,” “The Fifth Gospel,” and, “The Birth and History of the Early Church.”

In our study, we will be examining how the first-century church spread so rapidly over the Roman Empire despite tremendous persecution and we will look at comparisons with the explosion of new Christians today in Iran and China where being a Christian can mean the loss of a job, imprisonment or even death. We will wonder together how we, today, might recapture the zeal of the first-century church to share our faith in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in our families, neighborhoods and workplaces. Come join us!

    Here at St Luke ...

We seek God. We are a church that seeks to express our love for God in all that we do - with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30).
We serve others. The St. Luke church family has a heart to serve the community, loving each other just as God has loved us (John 13:35).
We share our lives together. No one here is perfect - we are all ordinary people who gather together to worship God, grow spiritually, and put our faith into action (James 2:15).
