    VIA De cristo

    3/3/2017

    Picture
The VDC Notes of Grace #18 retreat is coming!  It is the first time that St. Luke will be in the lead with Pastor Cliff as the Head Spiritual Director and Gary Conway as the Rector.  A number of Saint LukeSaints will also be part of the team.  The retreat will be held at Camp Hilmont, a church camp approximately 30 miles west of Nashville.  The retreat starts on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM and goes through Sunday, April 20 to April 23 (week after Easter).  Cost for the weekend is $150.

So what is Via de Cristo?  It is a walk with Christ.  Each day starts with communion service and ends with devotions.  In between there are talks by clergy and lay people, songs and prayers, and time for personal reflection.  There is a lot of laughter and love spread around with life-long friendships made.  Bishop H. Julian Gordy said:  "For many people, Via de Cristo is a life-changing experience that deepens their love for Jesus, for his church, and for their neighbors.  Perhaps more than anything, the Via de Cristo weekend reminds us that we are pilgrims on this journey and do not walk the way of Jesus alone."

We are looking for Pilgrims to join us on this walk with Christ.  If you wish to know more about the weekend, please let us know.  The names of the Saints on the team will be posted on the Worship bulletin board.  Contact any one of us or let the office know of your interest and we will be happy to talk with you.

    Here at St Luke ...

We seek God. We are a church that seeks to express our love for God in all that we do - with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30).
We serve others. The St. Luke church family has a heart to serve the community, loving each other just as God has loved us (John 13:35).
We share our lives together. No one here is perfect - we are all ordinary people who gather together to worship God, grow spiritually, and put our faith into action (James 2:15).
