Ministries

We want you to feel connected at St. Luke! That happens as you get to know the people and the staff at the church but, beyond that, it happens as you find your place to serve the Lord and make a difference in the lives of others. We have many ministries in the church that exist to serve those who attend our church, but they also provide ways in which you can be a part of serving others. Please contact the church at 901-756-8850 if you would like additional information about any of these ministries. These important ministries include:
DISCIPLESHIP
The mission of the Discipleship Committee is to nurture children, young people and adults by providing a Christ-centered environment of love and acceptance, There are many opportunities to use the "gifts" God has bestowed upon each of us by becoming a member of the committee, Sunday morning teacher or substitute for adults and children, Vacation Bible School coordinator or volunteer, Small Group coordinator or leader, Midweek program coordinator, dinner time volunteer, FISH teacher, or children's Christmas program director, just to name a few.
YOUTH
This ministry includes 5th-12th grade students gathering together as part of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cordova, TN. And we are on fire for what God is doing in our church, our community, and our world! Our Vision is simple: Seek God. Serve Others. Share Life!

OUTREACH
The mission is to share the Good News by making the visitor’s worship experience with us meaningful and welcoming. We want our guests to feel special. We arrange gifts and work with the Pastor and office staff to follow up with our Sunday morning visitors. Also, one of our priorities is to support and encourage current members; we maintain an In-Touch Ministry for our military people, our sick and those we have missed on Sundays. Our Celebration team looks for ways to celebrate, especially Baptisms and new members. We plan new-member class meals and host Joining Sundays receptions. Our team reaches out by advertising on the Internet and in print, including mailings. We support the St. Luke Website, Facebook, our Sunday morning greeters, maintain the visitors' guest book and host election-day hospitality. We supply nametags, the pictorial directory of our St. Luke Saints, and help to plan our fall Back-to-Church Sunday.
FELLOWSHIP
The Fellowship Committee coordinates creative activities to enhance awareness of and participation in our Christian community. The committee implements family events, provides coffee for fellowship on Sunday mornings and organizes St. Luke's athletic groups. St. Luke offers many opportunities for our members (young and old, male and female, married and single) to gather together in Christian fellowship.
Sports - Many St. Luke Saints love athletics and have actively participated in basketball, softball, volleyball and semiannual golf outings, which have been organized by church members, over the past few years.
