    12/29/2015

We've seen you sweat. We've seen paint in your hair and mud on your shoes. We've seen you work hard through the rain, the heat and the wind to help families build a place they can call home. Now, we'd love to see you all dressed up with somewhere to go -- Habitat's Tool Box Bash! Come party with us after the holidays to unwind, have fun and support Habitat in a whole new way.

The Tool Box Bash will be held Friday, Jan 15, 2016 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Memphis Botanic Garden! Enjoy the live and silent auctions, live music from G3: Garry Goin Group, whiskey tasting and festive food and drinks.

All proceeds raised from the Tool Box Bash directly support Habitat's mission to eliminate substandard housing throughout Memphis and the surrounding areas.

Martin Luther King Sunday - January 17, 2016

    12/29/2015

The Rev. Lonnie Branch will preach at St. Luke for the congregation's Martin Luther King Jr. Service. Rev. Branch is the author of Reflections of Light, the Odyssey of a Black American Lutheran Pastor During the Civil Rights Years. We will have copies of his book available to purchase in January.  He is a former pastor of Atonement Lutheran Church in Atlanta, GA, and Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Mobile, AL.

We are very grateful for the Southeastern Synod Multicultural Grant that is supporting this event. We are also planning a congregational visit to the National Civil Rights Museum with Rev. Branch on Saturday, January 16. All are invited to join us in welcoming Rev. Branch back to our Southeastern Synod.

    Here at St Luke ...

We seek God. We are a church that seeks to express our love for God in all that we do - with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30).
We serve others. The St. Luke church family has a heart to serve the community, loving each other just as God has loved us (John 13:35).
We share our lives together. No one here is perfect - we are all ordinary people who gather together to worship God, grow spiritually, and put our faith into action (James 2:15).
